There’s a wonderfully broken moment in a French film titled “The Girl On The Bridge” where the main character is desperately searching for his former lover throughout the streets of Paris. Down on his luck and down on his life he reaches for a stranger and begins to describe his lover’s physical attributes. The short description ends with… “…and she’s waterproof blonde.” At that moment Waterproof Blonde was born and became the deep-seated focus of founding members Rachel and Jeffrey. Soon after performing their first show on February 14, 2003, Waterproof Blonde began securing the reputation as THE band to keep your eyes on from the Mid-west.

Since that first performance Waterproof Blonde have performed over 150 shows throughout the Eastern United States, released the well-received EP “Glitter Lust” in October 2003, broken through the Top 20 national specialty radio charts with their first single “Supermodel Craving”, traipsed through the play lists of over 250 college radio stations across the United States and, most important to them, taken their one and only style of rock-n-roll to fans throughout the country.

Leading the charge is the crushing allure of Waterproof Blonde’s front-woman Rachel whose persona on stage is equally as striking as her full-throttled sledgehammer of a voice. Without exception Jeffrey (Bass) Derrick (Guitar) and Richard (Drums) take full advantage of the fact that your eyes are diverted as they release a barrage of impure rock-n-roll satisfaction upon their audiences.

Waterproof Blonde will continue their ride with their upcoming untitled full-length album, which will begin recording in August 2004. Expect to see an edgier mix of songs and sound and a immense amount of touring to follow into 2005.
