Daniel Ponce, who was living at Soundscape during the years that Vortex was rehearsing weekly, heard more of thie group than anyone else on earth.

It was indeed peculiar to Ponce for Vortex' focus on pure sound often to the extent of rhythm.

Ponce's great talent was that he could hear his way into anything and make it very different for sure and he accomplishes that on the tracks "Seeing Double" (bata drums) and "!Si!" (Tumba, shekere, double bell.)
