At the age of 17, Verity first began playing with Folk and Blues musicians in her native Cleveland before moving to Newcastle to study a music degree. At University, she became involved in developing the Acoustic Society, before becoming president in 2003.

Since then she has established herself across the North East region as a local performer, working with Acoustic Circus, Audio Angel and 2 Far North on a regular basis. More recently, she has played at the Carling Academy, The Tyne Theatre and made regular appearances on BBC Radio Cleveland.

In June 2004, she released her first E.P. ’Gravity Is The Reason’ independently as a solo singer/songwriter. This was followed by ’Red’ released August 2005 which involved a further 8 musicians to make up a blues band of local talent. She is currently recording a third E.P, (title to be confirmed) partly in Newcastle and partly in London.

She now works hard to help promote new artists in the area by running her own music sessions in Newcastle and acting as a committee member for local organisation Acoustic Circus.

Verity’s song-writing combines elements of Blues, Folk and Celtic music with a passionate and powerful voice. Her lyrics sometimes humorous, sometimes un-nerving attempt to decipher relationships, make sense of situations and celebrate the absurd.
