Quirky and meditative performances from Charlie Hunter, Phil deGruy, David Tronzon on this Beatles tribute vol. 2

The second in a series of Guitar Tributes To The Beatles covers more of the Fab four's classic songs. New York Magazine's review in 1995 states;
"With all the musicians who've orchestrated, interpreted, and lampooned its sacred texts, the Beatles catalogue might as well be the Catholic Mass. And in a year that everyone from the Carpenters to Kiss has gotten tribute records, this one (a guitar tribute, no less) may seem like the ultimate redundance. It's a worthy one, though , if only because the guitarists in question are so unusual: Philip deGruy rapples "Strawberry Fields" on a 17-Strong Guitarp; David Tronzo meditates on "Because" with an eerie slide; and Bay Area phenom Charlie Hunter plays bass, picks chords, and improvises through "Drive My Car"-all on the same ax sans overdubs. These aren't just stuntmen, though. While there are some straght forward readings-like Robert Quine and Jody Harris's gorgeous take on "Yes It Is" -the best performances are quirky solo spots, where these gifted Beatles fans sit and play the music back in their heads, just as we all do."
