Split 7" record from Sholi (San Francisco) and The Dead Science (Seattle)
"All That We Can See"--SHOLI's first release--is a tale of melody finding then forgetting its rhythm, redefining and perpetuating itself cyclically through a highly produced, tenuous blend of chaotic drums culminating in a powerful break-beat groove, dense chord organ, guitars, and double-tracked vocal harmonies. SHOLI are currently finishing work on their debut album, produced by Greg Saunier of DEERHOOF. "Pinky Ring," the B-side from THE DEAD SCIENCE was conceived in an atmosphere of total impulse, written and completely recorded in one nefariously drunken evening in Chicago. Featuring a bevy of partygoers, including Owen Ashworth of CASIOTONE FOR THE PAINFULLY ALONE, Tara Barnes of BUSINESS LADY/CARLA BOZULICH'S EVANGELISTA, and residents THE HOME RECORDING PROJECT, "Pinky Ring" draws expository inspiration from Method Man, the Jacksons, and THE DEAD SCIENCE'S new record, "Villainaire."
