1974 was just one in a number of continuing years that offered some of the best music of this century - and the music of Unicorn rides at the top of that list. From their decidedly country rock flair with a distinctly British twist, this band made a heavy impression on me from the first note. It certainly didn't hurt that Pink Floyd's David Gilmour produced the band after hearing them perform at a wedding, no less.

This album was released in the USA under the name "Unicorn" with the successor being called "Unicorn 2." In actuality, Blue Pine Trees is the 2nd LP. Very confusing. But the music is wonderful and has stayed with me for decades.
