Galway, Ireland’s The Terribles bring their debut mini-album to the U.S. Mixing subtle electronics, carefully crafted atmospherics with live cello, brass and tape loops, the Terribles create a unique brand of lush soundscape-driven pop., drawing comparisons to The Postal Service, Grandaddy and Lali Puna.
Recorded in Dublin, at Ian's georgian apartment:
Neassa Doherty did the singing and played a lot of guitars and bass, drums, glockenspiel, keys, wrote the songs and arrangements.
Ian McNulty recorded and edited everything, played guitars, did some lovely backing-vox and some important glockenspiel and provided the space of his georgian apartment in Dublin for the recording.
Peggy Nolan came straight from school and wowed us with beautiful and utterly flawless cello parts.
Hugh Law (Drummer from rock-band Berkeley) played drums.
The 'Special Amp' on the credits is a reference to an amp borrowed from a friend which was once owned by Black Francis. Special indeed :)
