Since the release of their debut album 'Asking for trouble...' in 2004 on independent Scratchy Records, The Rocks have been busy establishing themselves as one of the hottest live acts on London's underground scene, sharing stages with the likes of Art Brut, Eighties Matchbox, Futureheads, The Libertines, Razorlight, The Rakes, and new label mates, Dogs.
Further afield the band have completed two UK tours, played shows in New York, Netherlands, Belgium and Austria and won fans as far away as Japan where their album was released on the Vinyl Junkie label.
As one enthusiastic promoter put it recently.. "No other band at the moment has their sense of theatre, their musicianship and vomits it out in the general air of chaos they conjure around them... a gig by The Rocks is no mere gig, it's a show, it's an event, it's an experience."
Recently the band have been in the studio working on tracks for their new album with producer Junk Scientist (Larrikin Love, The Rakes) including new single 'Heartbreak City', an unholy collision of the pop suss of Motown and the punk ethics of the best of ’76, which will be released December 4th on new label Weekender Records.
The Rocks are finally ready. And as their Japanese label boss says:
"If it can't be understood, it's a fuck."
And who can argue with that?
