Splendor Bright is an ambitious new collection of traditional holiday music from around the world, co-produced by two artists released on The Lost Records™ label. Folk musician Tom Atwood and the singer/composer “Mystified”. Some of the Advent and Christmas songs featured on Splendor Bright are ancient and have fallen out of the holiday mainstream. “Our goal is to give new life to these lovely pieces”, Atwood says, “Some of which many people may not have heard before“.
Earlier this year, Atwood and Mystified formed The Noel Project, a global group of musicians linked by their collaborations on MacJams.com, an online musical community. A classically trained singer, Mystified is the featured vocalist on many of Splendor Bright’s 15 tracks. She also composed an original carol for the CD. “Much of the time, what I do musically is largely improvisation and inspiration”, Mystified says. “When I ‘hear’ something in my mind, I try to get it down as quickly as possible”.
In addition to Atwood and Mystified, Splendor Bright showcases carols performed by the British folk duo Revolving Doris (Rebsie Fairholm and William Shaw), as well as the talents of Johannes Cori Ander, the sensational Swedish guitarist, and New Orleans jazz artist and composer Scotty Hill.
