Do you remember when rock was fun?
In a time when musical trends quicky come and go, The Holy Fields are refreshing. Yes they rock, but unlike most of their amped-up contemporaries, their songs are as melodic as they are heavy.
Lead vocalist Mike Gennaro spent his childhood listening to Kiss and Van Halen records, with the dream of one day rocking like his idols. After years of playing everything under the sun, he decided to return to the palace of rock and form a band…
The original line-up included No Dynamics drummer Jeremy Finkelstein, former Venus Cures All bassist Sally Lee and a revolving door of guitar players. Having always felt the overwhelming need for classic guitar heroics, he finally found them in the hands of seasoned axeman/vocalist Scott Stevenson who immediately expanded their sound. Scott's arrival upped the musical stakes and as the rock factor increased so did the need for a kick ass rhythm section.
After parting amicably with Lee and Finkelstein, they soon found their anchor in former Treble Charger bassist Rosie Martin and ex By Divine Right drummer John Hall. The four quickly bonded through a love of classic rock: John is a Who fanatic, Rosie can't stop talking about Chris Bell, Scott’s a Jimmy Page freak and Mike has a ridiculously vast knowledge of 70's power pop.
With the pieces finally in place, The Holy Fields emerged in the summer of 2006, playing increasingly powerful live sets.
The Holy Fields are pleased to announce that their self titled debut EP is finally available. Sounding more like five A sides, this powerhouse collection could easily pass for half of a legendary pop rock greatest hits album.
