Salvador, Brazil
Named after the Timbal, a Brazilian hand drum, these drummers enjoy strong community relationships, working often with youth and writing anthems for cultural events like Carnival.
The Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps & The Jackie Robinson Steppers
Brooklyn Bridge, United States
The Jersey Surf is a competitive music education and leadership development organization, which participates in the Drum Corps International tour every summer. The Steppers are a non-traditional marching band that provides inner-city youth with an enriching educational and artistic experience.

This religious parade features the horns, cymbals and Chenda drums of the Panchavadyam and Mellam orchestras. This procession with sacred music and decorated elephants celebrates Hindu deities.

STOMP utilizes everyday objects such as trash cans, brooms and lighters to make music and rhythm. Their inspiration comes from the people heard on this CD.
Eva Yerbabuena
Granada, Spain
Flamenco music originated in Andalucia in southern Spain and is an eclectic mix of surrounding cultures. Eva Yerbabuena leads the new flamenco movement but also maintains its historic integrity.

Stewart Copeland
Stewart Copeland may still be best known to the public as the drummer for the British band, The Police, but he has also carved out a successful career composing music for films and TV shows. Since the Police’s 1983 break-up, Copeland has scored such diverse projects as Francis Ford Coppola’s Rumble Fish, Oliver Stone’s Wall Street and Talk Radio and the Television series, “The Equalizer”. Copeland is considered one of the most influential drummers in contemporary music.
Karsh Kale
Karsh Kale (pronounced Kursh Kah-lay) has firmly established himself as the leading American figure in the growing Asian Massive movement. His two Six Degrees releases, Realize and Redesign weave together strands of Indian ragas, trance, drum n’ bass and electronica to form a distinctive new sound. Kale is a masterful drummer and tabla player who has recorded and performed with Tabla Beat Science, Herbie Hancock, Gigi, DJ Spooky and many others.
Mr. Bill and Mr. Ben
Former street cleaners, Mr. Bill and Mr. Ben are new to the remixing business; Better known in their native Brighton for mixing drinks and wearing loud clothes, they plan to retire immediately.
