Sismo was born on February 2004 as an experimental music project, integrated at that time by Manuel and Alvaro. Andres joins the band when the idea of making an album arises. From that moment on, Sismo's aesthetic and ideas are unified.
The three members have known each other since they were five and participated in several different music projects together, apart from sharing other life experiences.
During the second half of 2004, Sismo starts working at home on their first
album called "Pueblo", mixed by Orlando Perez Rosso at the Javeriana University's music studio in Bogotá, and mastered by Mauricio Gonzales Baron at Audiovision's music studio, also in Bogotá, Colombia.
The album was presented by CD SISTEMS, and launched on January 10th,
2005, represented by the independent label "Discos Nancy". Pueblo was the label’s first record out, and as a matter of fact, a huge success.
"Pueblo" is being distributed by "MILLENIUM REPRESENTACIONES" all around
Colombia's important cities.
Sismo's work has been on the radio several times. Its first radial emission only two weeks after the album was printed was by Carlos Heredia on the radio program "Noches de Clepsidra" on the HJCK radio station. Since then, "Pueblo" has been played by other radio stations such as Radiònica, U.N. Radio, Javeriana Stereo, 88.9, and Vibra. It has also been played on internet stations like La Radio Cápsula and Sancocho. Nowadays, the single "Mientras Duerme" is being played on Radionica. All of these stations are highly recognized nationally.
Also, several magazines have published articles on Sismo, including important national ones like SoHo, Cambio, Semana, Shock, and internationally recognized magazines like Rolling Stone. Newspapers like El Tiempo and El Espectador also published excellent reviews about their work as well as websites like Estereofonica.com among others.
Notes about Sismo have also appeared on television for channels like CityTV, PlayTV, Caracol and Señal Colombia.
