Single serve up their own unique brand of rock 'n' roll with soaring harmonies, inventive pop smarts, a disciplined songwriting approach, and a tireless devotion to trying new things in the name of songs that affect listeners. Fronted by singer/songwriter/guitar player Todd Herfindal, this hard-working band have rocked their devout West Coast fan base at shows with Pete Yorn, Jimmy Eat World, Fountains of Wayne, Matchbox Twenty, Train, Phantom Planet, and American Hi-Fi, Posies, and Alex Chilton. Todd Herfindal's songs have won many songwriting awards. The track "This Is A Love Song" was the overall grand prize winner of the 2003 Windrift International Songwriting Competition and a winner in the 2003 John Lennon Songwriting Contests. In addition the song "The Moment To Start" was recently announced as a winner in the 2003 Unisong competition. In a little over 2 years the band has developed a strong regional following in their native San Francisco Bay Area and has now relocated to Los Angeles to do the same. The band has licensed selected tracks to MTV for their original programming. Single just wrapped up their debut full-length cd entitled "Welcome Nada", a collection of beautifully urgent pop songs. Recently Single played two separate in-store performances at the Virgin Megastore in San Francisco, winning many new fans. On that same trip to the Bay Area, Single drew over 400 people to the Great American Music Hall in SF. Single has been featured on and performed for San Francisco radio institution KFOG. Starting in April 2004, “Welcome Nada” will be available for digital download on Apple iTunes Music Store, Napster, Rhapsody, Musicnet, MusicMatch, Audio Lunchbox, MusicNow and Liquid Digital Media.
