Been there, done that. But theres something charming about being to places you’ve already been. Things that you may have missed the first time around suddenly become much more interesting than the new spots you have just visited. This is the concept behind Canada’s new darlings, the Sick Fits.

Tired of pretentious hardcore and its numerous horrid offsprings? Sick of ska? What about the wanking neo-garage? Well the Sick Fits brand of crash and burn may be right up your alley.

Formed in the ashes of what was left of a so called scene, the design was simple; re-ignite what was left or at least die trying. The Sick Fits initially came together based on various fanatical obsessions with primal punk sounds by the likes of Crime, the Germs, La Peste, the Heartbreakers, the Damned, the Saints, and the Kids. After their quick assembly in 2001, they were playing shows not long after. It took a while for the audiences to figure out what the Sick Fits were all about, but the band eventually amassed quite a local following despite the guaranteed disaster that followed them to almost every gig. They became the car crash that everyone had to stand around and ogle. Decisions were very soon made to bring the music to the masses. Sending their home recorded debut e.p. to literary fixtures such as MRR and Blank Generation. The Sick Fits garnered an overwhelming amount of praise and disbelief that they were actually Canadians.After many labels came a schmoozing, finally settling with three to put out the first whack of singles Electro-rock, Pelado and recently Big Neck.
