Sheree’s new album is a mature and confident follow-up to her first album, “Hold Still”. Titled “Red Circled Heart,” the album will capture your heart and take you through a range of emotions - all the while holding your hand and telling you it is going to be ok. It’s an honest look at the way things really are, and the realities and joys we all share.
Lyrically, Sheree’s thoughful songs touch upon different ideas like winters on the wet west coast (“Winter”), persevering through hard times in relationships (“Marriage”),and the wonders of the natural world (“Flash Photography”). The song “Flood” is a beautifully crafted journey about the little things in life that make it tough to remember the brighter sides life can bring.
Red Circled Heart is a significant evolution from her debut. The new album was recorded at Buena Vista Audio in Langley, B.C. by Jonathan Anderson (RADIOGRAM, STABILO) and delves deeper into sonics and arrangements than its predecessor.
Likely to surprise some fans, the album hits higher highs with the intense “Soldier” and lower lows with the spare and sombre “Pressed Flowers.”
This time out Sheree recorded with her band that has been playing together for the past year, rather than bringing in studio players, and the result is a more collaborative and distinct effort. Red Circled Heart is an assured and wide-eyed album, which draws you in and is bound to change lives and appeal to a broad audience.
Sheree is gaining fans on the west coast among listeners and artists alike. Sheree has spent significant time touring in western Canada, playing for audiences in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Minneapolis MN, and many other cities along the way.
