Imagine the sound of the Chemical Brothers playing football in the park with African Headcharge. "Dam good!" (Boogie Mafia)
Imagine the sound of the Chemical Brothers playing football in the park with African Headcharge with Leftfield as referee. Or Zion Train jamming with The Prodigy ... Or The Drummers Of Burundi taking a wrong turn on the way to the WOMAD festival and ending up playing a free rave in a car park in Bracknell. Welcome to RECYCLER, a world where two young Frenchmen take sounds from untold diverse sources, squish it all together and call it “music.”
Their third highly acclaimed album MASSA BOOM BOOM was recorded in 2006 together with the DANCING FEET EP. Rave reviews compare them to , Bushwacka and The Prodigy
Dance music that Rocks with Punk attitude. Dance music that injects electronica with the raw tribal energy of big African drums. Guest vocalists include the award winning irakian singer Aida Nadeem (Besh Atli and Dudulator), and the legendary Earl 16 (hear True Lovin’ ft Earl 16).
Support from Annie Nightingale (BBC Radio 1), Laurent Garnier, France Inter, Jacqui Read, Hexadecimal, Pathaan, Nerm (BBC Asian network), MJooGoo, Cut La Roc, House Nation’s Miss XS, Nick Thayer, DJ Clairvo, Boogie Mafia and many more around the world!!
“Damn good. New Chemical Brothers? Yes, can agree! [Dancing Feet] had very good crowd reaction – its very energetic with powerful beats.” (8/10 DJ Boogie Mafia)
In a previous incarnation, Fab and Tcherno (the creative minds behind Recycler) were part of French industrial/rock/dance group MAT, achieving minor success in Europe and support slots with Consolidated and Fugazi. Influenced by the work of Meat Beat Manifesto, MAT had always been about merging different musical elements together to make something new. Forming Recycler, the duo chose to take the possibilities of this fusion further and create dance music unlike anything else.
Big thumping tribal drums, dirty electronic beats, soulful vocals, the intimacy of a sweaty club, the excitement of a rave – this describes in part what they capture so well in their recordings and when playing live.
Recycler have toured extensively at clubs and festivals throughout Europe, playing alongside Gary Clail, Fun-Da-Mental, Future Loop Foundation, Bloco Electro, Transglobal Underground and Genetic Drugs amongst others. The experience of their live show brings out the primitive qualities of any audience through the sheer infectious beats that drive the most unlikely dancers to immerse themselves in a dancing frenzy
“They blew the roof off!” (Russ Alsop, director of Plug n Play Studios, Reading. Oct 06)
In the studio, Tcherno & Fab remain the creative minds behind Recycler. Onstage, the duo are joined by bass player ERIC MOMBO, born in the west African country of Gabon but now resident in Paris, and LUDOVICO MAURIAT. Previous guest percussionists that have included members of The Dhol Foundation, Bloco Electro/Beatroots Bateria, and African percussionists.
Never have they sounded so good! Appreciation also includes the respected Dreadzone, which also led to Earl 16 lending his exceptional vocals to True Lovin’ (Original mix).
Aida Nadeem also lends her stunning vocals to Dudulator and Besh Atli giving such tracks an arabian twist whilst other tracks are more overt. 5 MINUTES OF FREE PORNOGRAPHY doesnt need much explaining:- Crazed sexual tribal beats push against hot electronic pulses and deep sensuous bass. Dancing Feet is also self-explanatory urging you to the dance floor and recently been voted no. 3 by top international DJs in the promo breaks charts.
If you get chance to see Recycler play live then you are in for a real treat. One hell of a live act with a rare energy that leaves most dancers in a sweaty heap by the finish.
A Big thank you to all the DJs that keep playing the tracks both on the radio and in the clubs and everyone giving feedback and of course the people buying the music!
