Thanks for your Thoughts Stickers On Keys A composer and recording artist in his own right, Martin Roman Rebelski is also the unofficial fourth member of Doves, contributing keyboards to their recorded output and on tour with them since 1998.
Rebelski's history with Doves began when the band was in need of a keyboard player during the recording sessions for their third release “Here It Comes” on the Casino label. During the 2000 tour in support of Doves' “Lost Souls” album, Heavenly Recordings boss Jeff Barrett encouraged Rebelski to begin writing and recording his own material – resulting in a beautiful work of Eno/Reich-inspired ambient instrumentals called Thanks For Your Thoughts, released in the UK on Heavenly in 2003.
The following year, Rebelski released the follow-up Stickers on Keys, featuring the members of Doves and other Manchester musicians on various tracks. Although Rebelski had parted ways with Heavenly, Damon Gough (aka Badly Drawn Boy) received a demo copy of the album, and immediately offered to release the album on his Twisted Nerve label, as well as offering to act as Rebelski's A&R man. During the summer of 2004, Rebelski provided support for Badly Drawn Boy at his Festival Hall and Bridgewater Hall gigs.
Never before available domestically outside of the United Kingdom, Thanks For Your Thoughts and Stickers On Keys are now available from Aporia Records.
