“It's as if one of the biggest rock acts in the world has landed.” KKKKK Kerrang!
Influenced by such rock ‘n’ roll legends as The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Guns n’ Roses, Pantera and Black Sabbath, with a more modern sound likened to Audioslave and Velvet Revolver, Rattlesnake Remedy are a hard rock band as hard hitting as every generation of rock bands should be, with a live stage show stronger than any of their peers.
Their phenomenal live shows have received rave reviews from numerous radio DJ’s, magazines and webzines - having performed in some of the UK’s most prestigious live venues alongside established rock artists such as:
• Buckcherry
• Coheed & Cambria
• Ted Nugent
• Thunder
• Sebastian Bach (Skid Row)
• Michael Schenker Group
• LA Guns
• Magnum
• Danny Vaughn (Tyketto)
• M3 (Whitesnake)
• Mickey Moody & Friends
• The Quireboys
• Yngwie Malmsteen
• Love Hate
• Zodiac Mindwarp
• Wishbone Ash
2006 saw the band recording their long awaited debut album, MAGIC MAN, encapsulating their finely honed, hi-octane, energy-fuelled live shows. It was released, to great reviews, in the UK and Ireland, on October 30th on BEM Records, distributed by Universal Music.
The first single from the album, “Drag You Down”, was released May 1st 2006 and went straight into the Radio 1 UK Rock Charts at No.4 where it remained for over 2 months. The track also appeared on the July issue of Classic Rock Magazine cover cd – “The Hottest New Rock Bands In The World Today”. Radio stations from the UK, USA, Spain, Italy, Germany and Canada all picked up on the track adding it to their play lists.
Player Magazine (Japan’s longest running and most respected music magazine) featured the band in their Rock ‘n’ Roll Resurrection special feature. The “Drag You Down” cd was included in their 20 recommended cd‘s alongside the likes of Guns n’ Roses’ “Appetite For Destruction” and Velvet Revolver’s “Contraband” – not bad for a debut single on an Independent label!
Another track, “Reach For The Line” was chosen by Tony Wilson (Radio 1 / Friday Night Rock Show / Tommy Vance) to replace the Slipknot track as the new audio behind the Total Rock Radio news bulletins, aired worldwide 8 times per day. In October, the same track was selected for the Metal Hammer cover cd - “Razor”.
Promotion of the single and new album began with the massive 150+ date “Drag You Down Tour” running non-stop throughout 2006 including a main stage slot at the 20th Anniversary Bulldog Festival, a tour of Finland and dates in Holland.
The music video to the album’s title track “Magic Man”, which features the band alongside screen star David Gant who has featured in major blockbusters such as “Braveheart” and “Gandhi” was released in October and has since had plays on MTV - Headbangers Ball, Scuzz TV plus thousands of views on-line.
Into 2007 and the band continue to be out on the road doing what they know best. As Kerrang! Magazine stated:
“Being the hardest touring blues-based rock band in the UK has turned them into one of our finest”
Album title track, “Magic Man”, featured on the January issue of Classic Rock Magazine cover cd – “Bands You Need To Hear In 2007” which has again seen the band added to yet more radio play lists worldwide.
Their first UK gig of the year, before flying out to tour Finland for a second time, was reviewed by Kerrang! Magazine and subsequently received their highest review rating possible - KKKKK:
“It’s as if one of the biggest rock acts in the world has landed. It's not just the music, which is breathtaking and flawless, it’s the energy, the spring, the communication with an increasingly hysterical audience.”
