Racetrack is true to its name: fun, fast, loud and kinetic. "Go Ahead and Say It,” the new EP from the Bellingham, Washington trio is more than just a stop gap release before their next full length. There are no remixes or acoustic demos or live tracks. Instead, these five songs are presented without filler, a stand alone release along the lines of Husker Du’s "Metal Circus" or Mission of Burma’s "Signals, Calls, and Marches".
Recorded by Cameron Nicklaus (of Seattle's the Pale Pacific), "Go Ahead and Say It" shows Racetrack's noisy indie pop growing from their Christopher Walla (Death Cab for Cutie) helmed debut "City Lights” (2004). In the two years since, they’ve toured consitantly and expanded upon their Superchunk meets Sleater-Kinney sound, incorporating the influences of bands like the Wedding Present, Joy Division, Rachel's, Nada Surf, and Silkworm, into the sort of powerful indie rock that'll make you raise your Pabst in the air.
The EP features Harvey Danger’s Sean Nelson (who has recently contributed to the lastest Death Cab For Cutie and the Decemberists albums) on “The War at Home.”
