As a mood-driven rock band, Peluka pushes indie in new directions. With an emphasis on melody and chaos running side by side throughout each song, the band aims to please and unsettle at the same time. The resulting tension and release, carefully crafted into each song, create an immersive sonic experience.
Comprised of two electric guitars, bass and drums, the band is tight-knit while revealing a cast of distinct voices. Depending on the emotion of the song, Peluka is sometimes hard pounding distortion and at other times soaring and dreamy.
Peluka's music is overloaded with emotional energy. When the songs are hopeful, they carry a hint of sadness; when they are solemn, they tease you with warmth. It is left to the audience to decide what fuels the lyrics: whether directed inward or outward, a space is opened for the listeners own interpretation.
Peluka's song "Run" can currently be heard on Top 40 and Hot AC stations all over the U.S. and has received regular rotation on over 20 commercial FM stations nationwide. Their song "Mac Truck" has been used twice on the ABC series Knock First and the corresponding Knock First soundtrack. The band has been selected as one of eight finalists in the M.I.S. talent search, and played at the famed Troubador club in Los Angeles. The band was the featured performer on 107.7 FM "The Bone" Morning Show and has made several in-store appearances at Tower Records. Other performances include, Hard Rock Cafe SF, San Francisco State University and channel 29 Public Access television. Peluka had the chance to open up for Dramarama in 2005 for the famous Red Devil Lounge.
Their 2005 release “Take, Take, Take” is now available on iTunes, Rhapsody and has received airplay on Live 105 and many internet radio stations around the globe.
The band performs 1-2 times a month at San Francisco's premier rock clubs including Tongue and Groove, Pound SF, Red Devil Lounge, Cafe du Nord, Voodoo Lounge, and Studio Z.
