Oliver says that there's one thing he likes almost as much as a stinky old bone - a good, meaty book of poetry to chew on.

Mmmm! good! And when I began setting Michael Rosen's poetry to music, the words just kept ending up in Oliver's dish. His particular favourite was Dog Suite... no surprises there, I guess.

"Stupid dog!" I said. "How can I write songs if you keep eating the words?"

But I realize now he couldn't help it. Michael's words just taste so good! And they sound even better than they taste!

Michael's poetry was so much fun to sing that I used all kinds of music, including folk, pop, rock, and even some rap. The songs are so catchy that you'll find yourself tapping your toes and wagging your tails along with Oliver and me.

"Woof woof woof!" That means "Thank you, Michael, for writing words that sound (and taste) so good!"

HI, PAUL AUSTIN KELLY!

Paul's mother says that he came out of the womb singing. That must have been a shock.

He continued to sing throughout his misspent youth in upstate New York, twanging his electric guitar and wailing on his trumpet. He stumbled into an opera production at the Hartt School of Music, and he ended up singing at La Scala and the Metropolitan.

Returning to his musical roots, Paul founded Walking Oliver in Lewes, East Sussex, where he lives with his wife, son, and singing dogs.

He has occasionally been sighted in a magical town in New York's Mohawk Valley.

HOWZIT, KORKY PAUL!

Korky Paul was born in Zimbabwe into a family of seven children. He enjoyed a wild and privileged childhood in the African bushveldt - and read a lot of American comic books.

He studied Fine Art at Durban Art School in South Africa and film animation in California. he has illustrated numerous books for Oxford University Press such as Winnie the Witch, and many others for Penguin and Random House.

Known only to himself as the 'World's Greatest Portrait Artist' he now lives in Summertown, Oxford with his wife and two children, but in summer they live it up in Greece.
