Our Love is Special is the solo project of Mabou guitarist Steve Copley with contributions from Britta Phillips, Sonic Boom, Sara Eugene and Adam Boose.

Our Love is Special is the solo project of Mabou guitarist Steve Copley with contributions from Britta Phillips, Sonic Boom, Sara Eugene and Adam Boose. Our Love Is Special counters Mabou’s dense layers of distortion, noise and experimental instrumentals with a cleaner and leaner sound, more traditional song structures, and a mix of vocal and instrumental tracks.

It was Copley’s work as a DJ for his college radio station that built upon his already impressive enthusiam for alternative/experimental music and propelled him to create and perform his own, both in bands and as a solo artist.

The overall sound owes a debt to influences such as Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, Cocteau Twins, The Durutti Column, A.R. Kane, Pink Floyd, and many, many others.
