Daimon Beail, alias OTI, began creating music in a small studio somewhere in the south east of England back in the late 90s. After his initial ambient experimentation’s he became more involved in environmental music projects in places as far afield as London, Norway and Poland. Upon finishing the track “Inner City Krakow 99” which was broadcast in Canada, Daimon was invited to San Francisco to work on the environmental music project “AUDIO” with environmental music pioneer Charles Uzzell-Edwards and ambient / IDM composer Tetsu Inoue. This experience inspired Daimon to develop his work further and set up his new studio in his home country of Yorkshire where he began finishing some of his smaller projects as well as creating many new pieces. The bright lights of London soon became the location for his new studio where he began recording under the moniker OTI. The next three years were spent completing two album-based projects and participating in numerous collaborative pieces.
Norwegian influences soon became a strong force in Daimon’s work as he spent many summers relaxing and producing audio sketches of the environments and life that surrounded him.
Recently some of Daimon’s solo pieces have begun to emerge on Audiobulb records and to Daimon’s surprise, have received a number of positive reviews.
Daimon’s influences include, amongst others, the ambient works of
Brian Eno and the wealth of talent that has emerged on German record label Fax records, which Daimon eventually had his first official release on.
