In Belgium, the heavy as hell sound of threesome No Tomorrow Charlie has been legendary for over a decade. Fans of Gore, Melvins and other pure loaded metalsounds have been warned!
# Since 1986 NO TOMORROW CHARLIE (N.T.C.) have been delivering their brand of NOISE. They stood out as an instrumental combo, whose REPETITIVE HARDCORE "RIFFS" startled audiences at first, yet often got their interest. The N.T.C. supports for UT, GORE and CASPAR BRÖTZMAN were memorable. The release of the first two singles STATUS QUO/P.E./SUPER/NT and GOD’S MUZAK (1991) finished this first period.
# A reunion in 1992 split the band neatly in half. NICOLAS and RUDI went "Industrial- Ambient" as NR.MIND EXCURSIONS while FOANE and LUDO continued N.T.C..
# FRANK (ex-YANCATOOZ) and XAVIER ‘the man with X-ray eyes" (ex-P.I.G.Z.), completed the new line-up on the split double 7" LURID STRIPPING (1993) with TWERDOCLEB (Can.), a side-project of some SUPER-CONDUCTOR members. During this period, N.T.C. performed with the likes of NEW BOMB TURKS, THE PLEASURE FUCKERS, THE JESUS LIZARD, BARKMARKET, SHORTY, HINT, UNSANE, SURGERY and TVTV$. The tragic death of guitar player XAVIER (March 1994) dislocated the band, but nevertheless made them continue as a trio.
# Meanwhile N.T.C.’s music kept constantly evolving. Chants and samples by KRIS Be provided a new impulse on the "Hated in Holland - European Club Tour" with SPLINTERED (UK). The "Hated in Holland tour" in 1994 (that got them through Switserland, Denmark, Germany and France) resulted in a split single featuring ODIN’S BANQUET on the N.T.C.-side.
# The french F.B.W.L. (From Belgium With Love) label released N.T.C.’s first MINI CD STRANGE OATHS in the summer of 1995. Some time after the release, FRANK left the band and was replaced by LODE. During the rest of the year N.T.C. worked hard, extended the number of songs and performed at a steadily increasing number of gigs (supporting a.o. UNSANE,....). Members LUDO (with "60ties surfers" WHODADS) and FOANE (BETTY BLOOD TRIO) engaged in some side-projects. The release (end of December) of the first F.B.W.L.-compilation CD, and plans for a new CD and lots of gigs make 1996 look promising for N.T.C.. Look out for them !
