In Voices of Frozen Land, the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble looks to Russia, through collaborations with the composer Alexander Raskatov and Russias most renowned traditional music group, the Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble. The programme features compositions by Alexander Raskatov on the theme of Russia which he refers to as a frozen land. The Dmitri Pokrovsky Ensemble came to the Netherlands for the first time to work with the Nederlands Blazers Ensemble, performing both Alexander Raskatov?s contemporary compositions and old Russian songs.
