My Teenage Stride is a classically pop songwriting-oriented machine based in Brooklyn.

Jedediah Smith writes the songs, plays the instruments, sings the melodies, engineers and produces the recordings, and does most of the legwork. Jed is a prolific songwriter and My Teenage Stride is the result of years of recording.



My Teenage Stride blends sharply-honed pop sensibilities with an idiosyncratic lyrical style. Sometimes emphasizing the finer aspects of early 60s bubblegum, the agressive distorted lo-fi squall of art rock, the melancholy and humor of the Smiths, or the odd moment of 70s soft-rock.

A Sad Cloud showcases Jedediah Smith's songwriting and producing abilities, providing a sample of some of the kinds of songs he likes to make. The album was recorded entirely on a cassette 4-track.
