Pioneering jazz vocalist, Mina Agossi mixes different styles, from hip hop to world, blues and rock

Mina Agossi has her own unique sound. With imitations of free jazz sax solos and scratching in the microphone, Mina mixes many different styles, from hip hop to world, blues, rock, throwing them all around, often when least expected. In 2004, she was signed to the Candid label and immediately made a massive impact on the jazz vocal scene with the release of this album, 'Zaboum!!' in May 2004. She subsequently won the "Best Newcomer" award at the prestigious Adami Awards and an appearance at the Vienne Jazz Festival 2005, supporting the legendary Oscar Peterson and joined Archie Shepp for a sell out show as part of the London Jazz Festival in the same year. She continues to take the jazz vocal scene into a brand new and exciting direction. Mina’s follow up on Candid ‘Well You Needn’t’ received 5 star reviews from Jazzman and Jazz Magazine and her fan base continues to grow.
