“Mikey Dread Dubwise” - with this dub album Mikey Dread’s creativity steps beyond the norm. Jingles and Sound-effects from the Mikey Dread ever-popular late 70’s JBC radio show contribute to make this album a unique and powerful dub album. It was recorded and mixed at ‘Channel One Studio’ in the late 70’s, except for “Master Mantrol” which was mixed by King Tubby’s at ‘Waterhouse Studio.’ This 11-track set features all the top name musicians of the history of Jamaican reggae music; musicians like ‘Horsemouth’ Wallace from the movie ‘Rockers,’ Sly Dunbar, Robbie Shakespear, Augustus Pablo, ‘Chinna’ Smith, Santa,… (to name a few).
This album is Mikey Dread’s first and only dub album mixed at ‘Channel One’ Studio. It was originally released as a limited edition album but is now available universally from ‘Dread at the Controls’.
