Malory craft their beautiful, blissful sonic sound with brilliant sheets of effected guitars, drawing comparisons to the unmistakable gorgeous guitar work of Slowdive. Although the band implement the classic shoegaze-band instrumentation lineup - three guitarists, male & female vocals, drums, and bass - they definitely do not fall into the trap of countless other "ripoff" bands, but rather expand on these gorgeous sounds to create some of the most lush dreampop soundscapes in what seems like eons. Their monumental orchestral-shoegaze opuses and ethereal vocals have drawn comparisons to Slowdive, Spiritualized, Lush, My Bloody Valentine, Curve, Chapterhouse, et al.

Late in the year 2000, Clairecords got a hold of one of the most incredible debut albums we have ever heard by a German band called Malory. The album, entitled Not Here, Not Now, dug deep into our souls and we felt a compelling urge to spread the word of its brilliance. And so we did. We imported the disc from Germany through Clairecords Mailorder Direct and proceeded to sell copies at a rate we couldn't even keep up with. It remains one of our best sellers to date - even outselling some of our own proud product on our own label. In fact, we helped put the album into the sad-but-impressive out-of-print status that it has retained for the past several years.

Alas, we were supposed to reissue this glorious modern shoegaze classic several years ago. But due to a variety of snafus that not even we know or understand the extent of, the album has still been out of print all this time. Until now. Having endured weekly inquisitions from all ends of the earth asking when this would come to light, we can now proudly answer "it already has!"
