Four Winds is proud to present classic performances by the London Symphony Orchestra from two of the most popular ballets presented by the internationally acclaimed Joffrey Ballet of Chicago, "Kettentanz" (music of Johann Strauss) and "Birthday Variations" (music of Giuseppe Verdi).

Gerald Arpino established The Joffrey Ballet of Chicago in 1995 to carry on the traditions and legacy of The Jofffrey Ballet, which he co-founded with Robert Joffrey in 1956. The Company is recognized as one of the major international forces in dance, known for its virtuosity and exciting original repertoire - an American Classic.

"Kettentanz" is artistic director Arpino's salute to the Old Vienna of court balls and weingartens. The ballet is filled with Viennese style dances performed to the galops and waltzes of Johann Strauss.

"Birthday Variations" is Mr. Arpino's neo-romantic ballet that was commissioned to celebrate the 30th birthday of The Joffrey Ballet. The London Symphony Orchestra gives a strirring performance of Verdi's opera from "I Lombardi" and "I Vespri Siciliana."
