The Klaus Ignatzek Jazztet - Return Voyage

Close your Eyes, listen. The most well informed listener would think this album dates back to 1960 and that it was a preciously un-issued classic Blue Note album. It's that god! Pianist Klaus Ignatzek has constantly sought inspiration from that era, absorbing himself in recordings and making many a return voyage to the land of the hard bop giants. His first for Candid (The Answer, CCD 79534) featured the twin trumpets of Claudio Roditi and Gustavo Bergalli. For this Return voyage, Klaus once again engaged the excellent Gustavo Bergalli with whom he has been playing for six years. Jean Louis Rassinfosse is a fine Belgian bass player who has also worked with Klaus for six years and made a dozen albums together. New to the line up are Jay Ashby (trombone) and Adam Cruz (drums), two of the brightest emerging jazz artists during the early nineties.
