Julian Perkins performs as a soloist, chamber musician and conductor. As well as radio and television broadcasts, solo and chamber performances have included recitals at the St Albans International Organ Festival, St David's Hall, Cardiff, St John's, Smith Square, Purcell Room and London International Exhibition of Early Music. He has performed concertos with the London Soloists, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestra of St John’s, Smith Square, and for the London Bach and Windsor Festivals. Performances with leading ensembles include the Academy of Ancient Music, Gabrieli Consort, His Majestys Sagbutts & Cornetts, London Handel Orchestra, Monteverdi Choir, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Orchestra of the Sixteen and Scottish Chamber Orchestra. He has conducted New Kent Opera and Southbank Sinfonia, and assisted on productions for organisations including Birmingham Opera Company, Buxton Festival, Early Opera Company, English Touring Opera, Handel Halle Festival, Independent Opera and London Handel Festival. As director of The British Camerata, he has performed several world premières, appeared at international festivals in Cheltenham, London, Tel Aviv and York, and staged operas and educational programmes.

After reading music at King's College, Cambridge, Julian studied primarily at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, Royal Academy of Music, and with Trevor Pinnock CBE. Awards have included the prestigious Ian Fleming Award, Countess of Munster Trust Awards, Leverhulme Trust Award, Finzi Scholarship and Wingate Scholarship. He also teaches at the Royal Academy of Music and writes articles for international publications.
