John Nasshan is a Drummer/Percussionist/Composer born in New York, NY and raised in Chicago, IL. John began playing very early in life, in fact his Mother has stories about John playing time patterns along with the radio while in his high chair. John began formal percussion studies at age 5, and his teachers include: (his Grandfather) Bobby Christian, Roy Knapp, Henry Adler, Bob Tilles, Randy Szostek, Chuck Flores, and Louie Bellson. John attended DePaul University. John Nasshan's professional Music life began at age 13, and has been going strong ever since. John moved to Las Vegas, NV in 1976, and has a fortunate career in Las Vegas, performing in Showrooms, Lounges, Ballrooms, and Concert Halls both in Las Vegas, and as a traveling Musician. The artists that John has performed with include: Jack Jones, Joe Williams, Petula Clark, Buddy Greco, Si Zentner, Leslie Uggams, Nancy Wilson, Kitty Margolis, Sheena Easton, Don Menza, Pete Christlieb, and Scott Hamilton. John founded a bop quintet, John Nasshan's "Quintessence", in 2003 and the band is currently playing venues around the Southwest. He founded The John Nasshan Trio in 2004, and the trio is as popular as his quintet. John is a member of "Coalition", plays for concerts sponsored by the Las Vegas Jazz Society, and is a recording artist. John Nasshan is the drummer on the February 2008 Origin Records release "Monuments". "Monuments" features Walt Blanton on trumpet, Tony Branco on piano, and John Nasshan on drums in an album of spontaneously composed Jazz music.
