As the 70's unfold we find Jake is still in Nashville, making music that goes through changes, just as the rest of society. The prophetic album title also offers the "big hit" title from this release, So Close which came "so close" to making Jake's name a household word. Not as far a cry from his early work as some critics would say, this album displays the quirky-smooth Jake as the poet we knew him to be. (1970)
