Exactly why Jake went off to Nashville to record this album that has little to do with country music (except for certain flourishes) probably had more to do with the emergence of The Buffalo Springfield and Rick Nelson's country-rock offerings of that time. With players like David Briggs and Kenny Butrey, how could this album be anything but interesting as it places Jake's folky-poet lyrics against the safe edges of Nashville. (1969)
