Has passed in april 2006, the singer and composer Guilherme de Brito from Rio de Janeiro can be considered a samba 'legend'. He was another great sambista historical partner Nelson Cavaquinho from Rio de Janeiro as well. Samba Guardado is his fourth album.

After less than one year of its lauching, the album received good critiques from Brazilian press and in most of comunication medium the CD was greeted as one of the best launching recently.

Guilherme, German grandson, had a hard life but never stopped composing or painting, another ability. Today he is aknowledged composer and his tunes were recorded by important Brazilian artists as Elis Regina, Beth Carvalho among others.

Linked to Escola de Samba da Mangueira, Guilherme was one of these artists who realy believes in the authenticity. Extremelly thin and inveterate smoker in spite of his wife, Dona Nena and doctors protest, he translates in his lyrics a lot of his life. His poetry has a great dose of melancholy, as he missed a time that doesn"t exist anymore.

Without prejudice, Guilherme brings, in this album, the participation of two great singers that belongs to a Brazilian music younger generation; Cássia Eller that shares the vocal in Erva Daninha and Luiz Melodia that releases his beatiful voice in Maria.
