Gabriel Garcia has been songwriting for most of his life. Originally trained as a classical violinist and guitarist, he combines complex melodies to simple arrangement. Playing in the minimalist songwriter fashion of those like Nick Drake and Jim Croce, Gabriel uses very little to create a lot. The writing and recording process for his solo Debut The Sleeping Giants have lasted for more than 6 months, and has garnered much attention and anticipation including the attention of Coming Home Records who will put forth the effort.

The acoustic driven album is delicate and subdued, yet unpolished and completely d.i.y.. It's almost as if he's going to fall off the edge of a cliff in every song, that's the feeling I get. Says Veteran Producer/engineer Joel Garcia. It's dirty, ruff around the edges and constantly fragile. The record was produced over two months time at Stimmung studios where various experiments were put into reality such as; recording guitars though tin cans and strings... shooting Mexican fireworks through a bucket of ice cream, recording banjos outside at 4:35 am after taking 4 whiskey shots, using slide guitars from the 1920's, singing vocals from 50 feet away in a where house and routing the signal through a bass amp, getting three musical midgets (that's what they called themselves) to sing a three part harmony in the background, even using the sound recorded during an L.a. earthquake when the mics were rolling. All making for and intense myriad of sound.

While Gabriel Takes time to Sound design and Compose for multiple Film Projects, He still intensely writes his follow up to The Sleeping Giants. He also keeps active in the research and preservation of Vintage and Antique stringed instruments as well as Producing, engineering and collaborating with selected artists such as Skyscraper Frontier and the oxford three.
