An album based around and featuring a type of flute instrument known as ocarina.
An album based around and featuring a type of flute instrument known as ocarina.
This album contains the sounds of instruments made from organic materials only (wood, clay, stone etc.)
Aimed at minimalism, purity and simplicity it is performed on wind and percussion with many of the tracks just solo ocarina.
It has been derived mainly from the impressions I have received from listening soulfully to nature, especially the melodic sounds of native New Zealand birds (Bellbird, Tui and so forth).
Actual conversations with birds where they come in close from far away to my imitative calls and other dialogues with nature have inspired most of the works, in an evolving unification and integration of mystical connections of spirit, into art expressing these numinous experiences with the living energies of land, sea and sky...
