FLYKKILLER Aka Steve Hilton has been involved for more then fifteen years in the music industry - in both movies and production and programming with some of the most incredible artists working today. Since he signed his first publishing deal to a label offshoot of Sony Music he has gone on to be one of the most respected electronic musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.
Record-wise, Stephen has contributed as either co-producer or a programmer to the works of Depeche Mode, Massive Attack, Moloko, Isaac Hayes, The Pet Shop Boys, Scott Walker, Pulp, David Holmes, Bomb the Bass, Mel C, The Divine Comedy, Dirty Vegas, Martina Topley-Bird, Natasha Bedingfield, Joy Zipper, The John Spencer Blues Explosion, Craig Armstrong, David Arnold, Trevor Horn, Rick Nowels, the list goes on...
Stephen's work on movie scores comprises of some 20 Hollywood features including two James Bond movies - 'The World Is Not Enough' and 'Die Another Day', 'Ocean's 11', 'Moulin Rouge', 'Shaft', 'Zoolander', 'The Bone Collector', 'Plunkett & McLeane', 'Analyse That', 'Buffallo Soldiers', Luc Besson's 'Kiss Of The Dragon' and numerous more. Stephen formed 'The Free Association' with David Holmes and under this name they have been writing and producing together as a band and as soundtrack composers. Free Association, the album was heavily critically acclaimed and the band embarked on extensive European tour which took in Glastonbury, V2003, Kristiansand and Roskilde as well as securing a performance on the prestigious BBC's 'Later' with Jools Holland.
The new Free Association music currently features on the Renault Clio Campaign (UK), the VW Campaign (Germany & Turkey) and other tracks have been licensed to CSI - the American Crime drama series amongst other TV programs.
Stephen's and David's latest work are the scores composed for three recently released movies - 'Code 46' by Michael Winterbottom ('24hour party people'), starring Tim Robbins and Samantha Morton - a futuristic love story - which resulted in them being nominated for European Composer of the year at the European Movie Awards, and Bronwen Hughes' ''Stander', based on a true story about South African chief of police in 1979 and starring Thomas Jane and Dexter Fletcher. Both music scores have been already incredibly well received by the press (including a glowing piece in Hollywood Reporter).
Most recently, they have just finished "Ocean's 13", the sequel to "12". As well as this, he is putting finishing touches to his first album and has co-written Pati Yang's forthcoming album due for release through EMI Poland where she has considerable success.
Stephen has just completed his debut artist project entitled "Flykkiller" of which the first single is due out in March 07 and includes a fantastic remix by his side kick Holmes.
