what do twin sisters, a space alien, and a saskwatch have in common?
more than you might think, according to washington dc -based indie-pop rockers, exit clov. since their conception in 2003, the band has taken the dc music scene by storm with its electric hooks and politically charged lyrics, sung in gorgeous ethereal harmonies that only twins could conjure. layering infectious synth, violin and guitar riffs against a backdrop of vitriolic bass and drums, exit clov creates a sound that is at once cinematic and furious, charming and poignant ... and irresistibly danceable. exit clov has to its credit two self-produced eps, including 2003's starfish and 2004's saskwatch.
for their latest demo, entitled The roget sessions, the band enlisted the insight of producer roger greenawalt (ben kweller, martin sexton).
exit clov has won many followers in a short span, touring the eastern seaboard, playing festivals in the midwest and northeast and appearing on espn. the starfish ep was named one of 2004's best mid-atlantic releases by left off the dial, and the band has been nominated as best new artist for the 2005 wama awards.
