Uses meticulously arranged vocal and instrumental parts to create a center stage for its witty, & occasionally crude lyrics.
Formed in February of 2005, this San Francisco three piece (guitar, bass, drums) uses meticulously arranged vocal and instrumental parts to create a grand center stage for its witty, sardonic, and occasionally outright crude lyrics. The catchy, sing-along appeal of the band’s vocal melodies stands in ironic contrast to the nature of its lyrics. Songwriter and lead vocalist Craig Hordlow says of the EP, “this is a recording that will humiliate my mother, but make my uncles proud.”
Comprised of Ryan Hailey (bass, vocals), Craig Hordlow (guitar, lead vocals), and Aaron Xavier (drums, vocals), Erogenous Jones’s first EP has a sound that is somewhere between Indie Rock and Baroque Pop. Hordlow originally played with Xavier in Eugene-based “George’s Pocket” in the mid-nineties. After George’s Pocket broke up, Hordlow played in San Francisco based “Four Percent Juice”, which disbanded in 2000.
Erogenous Jones is scheduled to complete a full-length album by December, 2006, which will be released on its label, Community Musician.
