Emily Barker releases a re-mastered version of her debut solo album ‘Photos.Fires.Fables’ in the UK. The album features a revised track listing, one new song and refreshed artwork and now comes to you via Emily’s own independently-managed label Everyone Sang.
‘Photos.Fires.Fables.’ was recorded with producer Ruben Engzell and a host of talented session musicians who go by the name The Red Clay Halo.
After the initial run of 1,000 copies sold out at gigs in 2007 alone, Australian singer songwriter Emily Barker releases a re-mastered version of her debut solo album ‘Photos.Fires.Fables’ in the UK. This album features a revised track listing, one new song and refreshed artwork and now comes to you via Emily’s own independently-managed label Everyone Sang.
Hot on the heels of this re-mastered album will be Emily’s second album, currently being written and recorded. It is due for release through Proper Music Distribution in August 2008.
Hailing from Bridgetown in Western Australia, Emily first entered the UK music scene via the Cambridge Folk Festival, where she appeared with guitarist Rob Jackson (Boo Hewerdine) in 2002. This successful collaboration led them to form “the-low-country”. They released 2 albums, and enjoyed several plays on John Peel’s show.
In October 2005, Emily won both Country Song Of The Year and Regional Song Of The Year at the prestigious Annual West Australian Music Songwriting Awards. Also in this year, she sang in place of Stephanie Arlene with The Arlenes on their UK tour.
‘Photos.Fires.Fables.’ was recorded with producer Ruben Engzell and a host of talented session musicians who go by the name The Red Clay Halo. In 2006, the band opened the Cambridge Folk Festival and whilst there, Emily did a duet with Steve Adams of the Broken Family Band which now features on the album. Summer 2007 saw Emily’s debut at Glastonbury festival Avalon Stage.
Emily has just completed a tour of major cities in Australia opening shows for Jose Gonzalez and in March this year, will commence the recording of her second studio album.
