Debut album from Edmonton's ska-punk champs!

Rising from the chaos that is one of Canada's hottest punk scenes, THE OPERATORS 780 are "Canada's most exciting and dynamic ska/reggae influenced group" (Stylus, June/July 2004) . Having members from bands such as the very seminal Edmonton streetpunk band THE CLEATS and Edmonton's new up & coming upstarts HIT & RUN definitely adds an element of punk influences that run the gamut from Bad Brains, The Replacements, Gorilla Biscuits, Seven Seconds and obviously The Clash. When combined with reggae influences such as The Mighty Diamonds, Toots & The Maytals, Sugar Minott and more, the result is the unique and refreshing sound of THE OPERATORS

This untitled follow-up to their debut Power Version EP from last year is easily and by far a testament to the growth and maturity of this band, displaying their musical talents and boundless creative energy. The song-writing on this album is smooth and succint and there is a fluidity to the transitions between songs which give the album an epic feel. Some songs clock in at under a minute. Others seem to last forever but when they do end, it's too soon. With a masterful touch, led by the old-school and authentic sounds and feel of Eric's Hammond, The Operators fuse punk, reggae, dub and more...

The secret behind the success to this album is the advent of the band's ability to record and produce it themselves in their home studio. Without the restraints of time and money to hinder them, the creativity and song-writing was at times spontaneous and at others a labour of love, being truly refined to perfection. Brad and Eric have truly created a master-piece here and who better to put the finishing touches on a master-piece, but the master of Edmonton's punk and indie scene himself... Nik Kozub of VEAL and previously frontman for the Cleats has contributed his unquestionable talents and experience to do the final mastering.
