Vaidade is the first album released by Djavan's record label, Luanda Records and remarks the 16th in a career spanning almost 3 decades. The album was released in 2004 in the Brazilian market and licensed to Portugal, Argentina, Chile, Spain, Italy and other territories around the world.

Produced and arranged by Djavan with Luis Avelar conducting a 13 piece orchestra , where Djavan accents his lyrical side. The title track "Vaidade" features Mandolin virtouso Hamilton de Oliveira.

It includes hits like "Se Acontecer", theme-song of the soap-opera "Senhora do Destino" (TV Globo), "Flor do Medo" and "Dia Azul", also included in soap-opera soundtracks, as well as the sambas "Celeuma" and "Mundo Vasto". "Taina-Flor", a song with hints of Brazilian Jazz, was written for the film "Taina 2" that tells the story of an indian girl who lives in the Amazon rainforest and was a tremendous success with the Brazilian public.
