De Trop comes to us from Glasgow, Scotland and is comprised of Colin Laughland and occasionally Krist Moran. De Trop interprets their surroundings around a broken, hissing 4-track tape recorder. Using only guitar, an out of tune piano, some cracked voices, red wine and a screwdriver, de trop records these little drones. The music they make could be described as slow, sad, pretty, little cracked love songs. Personal yet universal, their sound is unmistakable. Their recordings are a varied collection of pieces with some indescribable emotion or latent dialogue speaking to us.
