Gypsy music from Spain to Bulgaria.

"Zingari: Route of the Gypsies" was recorded live on location in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Spain, Hungary, France, and the former Yugoslavia by the late Deben Bhattacharya.

Bhattacharya was one of the world's leading authorities on folk music, song and dance and classical music in Europe and Asia. He won international recognition as an expert on ethnic folk music. On hundreds of reels of tape and innumerable photographs Mr. Bhattacharya brought back into sight and sound age-old cultures from remote corners of he globe where folk song and folk dance had not been touched by modern civilization. Much of Bhattacharya's work is carried out under the auspices of U.N.E.S.C.O.
