The group won Best West African Act at the Channel O Spirit Of Africa Music Video Awards, and the single “I Love You” was also nominated for Best RnB Single and reached #1 in Nigeria's Channel O Charts.
The single “I Am Free” features a freedom message from the Grammy Award winner Junior Reid (from Black Uhuru) who has worked with Snoop Dogg, Alicia Keys and other high profile international urban artists.
I Am Free’s inspirational lyrics comes from the duo’s life experiences whilst growing up in Nigeria as well as the collective issues of Black History including the slavery days of the past. At the same time though the artists see the track as an inspiration to any individual who has gained a personal form of self-freedom at some point in their life. Musically the fusing of an African flute in the bridge section, catchy reggae tinged chorus and electro bass line makes the track a unique fusion of modern and classic African vibes.
