Day One Symphony is a true confluence of musical ideals. Composed of four musicians very unique in style, the band has carved a subtle niche for themselves somewhere out in the vast expanses of the ambient tradition. Their work is dark, brooding, ethereal, Kafka-esque and whimsical, sinuous and dynamic, cascading from dense crescendos to the most gentlest caresses of sound.
In their short tenure as a band Day One Symphony have released two recordings- their debut [e]sampler which came out early 2004 and their newest release, AVICIOUSCIRCLE, which was released May, 2005. Both discs are multimedia enhanced and offer a wide spectrum of media. The short film "Projection," found on their first release, introduced the band's music and vision to their audience. AVICIOUSCIRCLE's multimedia enhancement further extends the band's tech-savvy approach by offering an interactive section and a new web_extend section which allows additional media to be added periodically via a disc-to-internet connection.
Following the release of AVICIOUSCIRCLE Day One Symphony was priveledged to find themselves opening for dredg (Interscope) and main support, Circa Survive (Equal Vision), on the east-coast leg of their spring tour. The band sold nearly 1000 copies of AVICIOUSCIRCLE and successfully extended their fanbase into the eastern regions of the U.S.
The band is currently working on new material for a full-length record due out 2006.
