Carlos Martinez is a 35 years old guitarist. He was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was gifted with a ear for music and started to take guitar lessons with Luis Gomez, dedicating himself entirely to classical and Argentinian folk music. He developed and excellent relationship between his technique and his roots in Argentinian folk music, achieving this by dedication and tenacity. He specialized in instrumental pieces by different Argentinian and foreign composers: Atahualpa Yupanqui, Eduardo Falu, Victor Velásquez, Abel Fleury, Carlos de Fulvio, Francisco Tarrega, Johann Sebastian Bach, Isaac Albeniz and Agustin Barrios, among other extremely outstanding musicians.
He is an unavoidable reference when it comes to a style that combines precise amounts of virtuoso playing, Argentinian folk music roots and the classical school. Carlos dedicated himself to the recording of the complete opus of Abel Fleury -in two volumes-, of Eduardo Falu – two volumes already published and two more to come -, and of Atahualpa Yupanqui – scheduled to come out in 2008 in six volumes-.
