Notting Hill is the area of West London put the world entertainment map by the success of a motion picture of the same name released in the late 'nineties'. The film, entertaining through it is, doesn't come anywhere near conveying the real atmosphere and vitality of this dynamic quarter of the Metropolis.

'The Hill' is home to a legion of world citizens of all persuasions and ethnic lineage. Foremost of these, in London's version of New York's Hell's Kitchen, are Londoners with Caribbean roots.

Now the annual, colourful and boisterous Carnival has become world famous along with Portobellos antique and street markets. Behind all this is an infrastucture of artists, writers, musicians, societies and clubs.
